CAPE TOWN MARATHON WAS CALLED OFF ✋🏻🛑⛔️ THE RUN STILL GOES ON
This past weekend didn’t go as planned. The 2025 Sanlam Cape Town Marathon was officially cancelled just before sunrise due to extreme winds and safety risks around the route. For many, months of training, early mornings, and goal-setting suddenly hit pause.
But while race day didn’t happen, the journey doesn’t stop here.
We’ve always said that running isn’t just about medals or finish lines — it’s about momentum, community, and showing up for yourself and the people beside you. And that’s exactly what this week is about.
Here’s how we’re keeping the energy alive:
1. Run Anyway.
Whether it’s your own 10K, a local loop, or joining a friend for a social run, just move your body. The training doesn’t go to waste. Every kilometre still counts.
2. Celebrate the Small Wins.
You showed up. You put in the work. That discipline is something worth holding onto, with or without a medal to prove it. I mean Strava still counts right?
3. Stay Connected.
We’ll keep running, training, and building together. Jump in for a group run, share your post-marathon reflections, or just come hang out. The conversations, the community, and the consistency, for us, that’s what makes it special.
4. Look Ahead.
This isn’t the end of the story but it’s a plot twist. New races are coming, new goals are forming, and we’ll be there together for every step. Plus you got a entry for 2026 or 2027 race!
So, yes, the marathon was cancelled but the movement wasn’t.
Keep showing up, keep running late (as we do best), and let’s turn this setback into another shared win. Go get it Athletes!
